Case, was born near Nashville, Tennessee, August 26th, 1834. Her parents, Dr. T. P. Greene and wife, with their family removed to Shelby County, Illinois, when she was about four years of age; and soon thereafter came to Wayne County and settled upon the family home two miles north of Jeffersonville, where she grew to womanhood and at which place her parents lived until each were claimed by the grim Reaper Death. She was married to Alexander C. Womack September 4th, 1851, with whom she lived until his death August 6th, 1869. She was again married to Titus G. Case, December 21st, 1871 and soon thereafter took up her residence with him at the farm near Johnsonville, where both continued to live until each passed to the realm of a future state. There was born to the first marriage a son, T. J. Womack; and to the second marriage, two sons and one daughter: L. R. Case, Sarah E. Cambron and Edwin S. Case, the latter having died May 31, 1897, leaving the older sons and the daughter together with one stepson, John L. Case, two grandchildren and eight of the grandchildren of her late husband together with five brothers, two sisters, many relatives and a host of friends to morn her departure from this life. One of the grandsons of her husband, Charles C. Case was reared in their home from infancy to manhood, and who with his family were members of her household at the time of her death and was as near to her as any other member of the immediate family. She was stricken in death suddenly without previous known illness and without warning of the nearness of the end at 5:30 p.m., October 26th, 1913, and was at the time of her death 79 years and 2 months old.
